The context

The employees project is the initiative of the Marcegaglia Foundation aimed at the employees of the Marcegaglia Group in Italy. The project, launched in 2013, was created in memory of Cav. Steno Marcegaglia with the desire to give way to his sensitivity towards the human resources and the social context in which the company taps into. Each year, the Marcegaglia Foundation proposes one or more tenders to employees on different themes and for different purposes. Tenders can be made for direct contributions to the families of employees (such as scholarships) or contributions to associations, schools or local authorities proposed by the employees themselves.

`Give us an idea! '

With the Call “Give us an idea!” Marcegaglia Foundation has asked all employees of the Marcegaglia Group in Italy to put forward non-profit entities of their own territory with projects to support women. Each employee had the opportunity to report an entity or to express their vote in favor of an association proposed by a colleague. It was then up to the associations to submit a project consistent with the guidelines set out in the tender. 42 employees supported an association and 29 non-profit organizations participated in the selection process that ended in May 2014 with the choice of the winning project, funded with 20,000 euros.
