The context
The Progetto Uomini Responsabili (PUR) – “Responsible Men Project”, active since 2018 in Carrara and promoted by the Centro Italiano Femminile (CIF), is an initiative targeting men who have engaged in violent behaviour, with the goal of preventing the recurrence of violence and promoting conscious behavioural change. Through individual and group psychological sessions, the project aims to guide participants along a path of accountability and critical reflection on their actions, within a framework of primary prevention and protection of women and minors who are victims of violence. PUR is part of the Tuscan regional network of programmes for perpetrators of violence and adheres to the IMPACT protocol for monitoring and evaluating interventions.
The project
In 2025, Fondazione Marcegaglia decided to strengthen its commitment to tackling gender-based violence by supporting PUR with a contribution of €10,000, aimed at ensuring the continuity of support and guidance interventions for the programme’s participants.
The Foundation’s support contributes in particular to covering the costs of specialised professionals and to strengthening a key local service that operates in synergy with the Women’s Shelter and public services. This initiative is fully aligned with the Foundation’s strategy to promote lasting cultural change and to reinforce networks for the prevention of, and response to, male violence against women in the areas where it operates.
