Fondazione Marcegaglia provides grants to third sector organisations committed to making the world a safer, fairer and more inclusive place for women, offering one-time or multi-year funding to support projects and initiatives aligned with its statuatory objectives. To learn more about the Foundation’s areas of focus, we invite you to consult the statute available on our website.
The size of the grants varies depending on the case at hand: the average contribution is around EUR 20.000, but the Foundation also considers requests for smaller or larger amounts, evaluating them based on their quality and alignment of the project proposal with our goals.
Timing for submitting funding requests:
- By October 31st of each year, organisations interested in applying for a grant to support activities starting the following year must submit an official request, complete with the required documentation, to info@fondazionemarcegaglia.org. The list of required documents is available HERE. If, during the evaluation phase, it becomes necessary to supplement the documentation with additional materials not included in the list, the Foundation’s staff will contact the applicant organisation directly to request them.
- By December 31st of each year, Fondazione Marcegaglia will notify the applicant organisations of the outcome of their evaluation.
Evaluation criteria for funding requests:
The suitability of funding proposals is assessed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, with operational support from the staff. Selected initiatives will be financed using the budget allocated for the following year. In general, requests are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- alignment with the objectives and mission of Fondazione Marcegaglia;
- economic and organisational sustainability of the initiative;
- scalability and replicability of the initiative in other contexts or territories;
- potential for collaboration and sharing of best practices with other projects or grantees supported by the Foundation;
- presence of co-financing or partnerships that strengthen the initiative’s solidity and credibility;
- clarity on expected outcomes, with concrete and measurable indicators to monitor progress;
- innovation and originality of the proposed solutions.
WHAT THE FOUNDATION DOES NOT FUND:
- individual persons;
- scholarships or contributions toward school/university fees, except those provided under the “Borse di studio in memoria di Steno e Mira Marcegaglia” call for applications , reserved exclusively for the children of employees of the Marcegaglia Group;
- religious organisations for religious purposes;
- election campaigns, political parties, or activities affiliated with political parties.
