At the Oncology Unit of the Integrated University Hospital of Verona, the project Convivio aims at humanizing the assistance, by offering patients, their family members and helpers, entertaining formulas to engage them in educational and recreational times during the waiting times for the anticancer therapies, providing an opportunity to distract from the anxieties related to the illness and its hospital context and thus making the path of those facing a delicate moment of their life, more enjoyable.
The Operation Live Onlus association with the support of Fondazione Marcegaglia Onlus offers cancer patients at the U.O.C. Of Oncology, a contribution for the purchase of wigs from a retailer operating with the Italian NHS and for free aesthetic advice; volunteers activity has also been enhanced through collaboration with a psychologist who provides assistance to patients, families and nursing staff twice a week, for a total of 10 hours a week.
